Want to simplify your life? Try using Goldmine Email rules and add this one simple rule to separate out the bulk of the crud from your main email box. Let me explain... If you recieve a lot of junk email, most likely the sender is not in your Goldmine database right? You probably are more concerned about emails from contacts that are in your database anyway. By creating a separate 'Not Linked' email box and routing the emails to it, you can have a 'Main box' that has just emails addressed from your contacts in your database, and a seperate box with the less important emails that you can review seperately. Here's how... 1) create a new Sub mail box. To do this right click on your INBOX and choose 'New Inbox Subfolder'. Name it 'Not Linked'. 2) In Email Rules create a new rule. To do this, open the E-Mail Rules Center, then right click on the Default icon in the left pain of the rules center. On the popup menu choose New-> New Rule. Name the rule 'Not Linked Emails'. Then go to next screen of the wizard. Create a new rule by hitting the 'new' button. On the popup screen, Choose the mail field to be 'Linked' and the logical condition to be 'IS NOT'. Then click OK. Now you are back on the wizard screen again. Click NEXT. Now you need to create a new action - hit the new button. In the 'Action on mail' pulldown - choose 'Move to Inbox' and in the 'Value' pulldown, choose the 'Not Linked' inbox. Click OK and back at the wizard window choose FINISH. Be sure to Save changes when you close your Email Rules Center. Now you have 2 inboxes that separate your emails according to whether they are lsited in your database or not. ENJOY! |
